It doesn’t take most parent long to realize Hollywood does not share the same values as Christians. I remember sitting down with my wife to watch the movie Splash on Disney+. I had not seen it in 20 years and since it was about mermaids, I was going to watch before letting my kids see it. I was so surprised how close it came to showing full on nudity. I didn’t want my kids to watch that. So, I started looking to see if Disney+ provided some method of selecting which titles my kids can watch. There are none.
Most streaming services have broad rating based filters. You cannot select individual titles to exclude, in order to more specifically limit your child’s viewing. In addition to that, it seems all your kid needs to do is select the parent account when logging in to bypass those filters. The major studio services are horrible for the Christian family.
If you have never seen it, VidAngel created a promotional ad of a family being hit by paintballs every time there was a swearword in a movie. It is amazingly impactful and displaying the damage Hollywood has done to kids and families. Services like Vidangel and TV Guardian have tried for years to create services that adequately filtered movies.

As streaming technology has advanced and content has increased, a number of Christian alternatives to Hollywood have immerged.
Of these, Pure Flix is probably the most popular amount Christians. Living Scriptures is the most popular among Latter-day Saints.
VidAngel is probably the most up and coming with a lot of original content. They are famous for crowd funding numerous movies and the TV series The Chosen. VidAngel also doubles as a movie filter; capable of filtering movies so you only see the content you want to see.
